Sony unveils competition to Microsoft’s “Project Natal” at E3 conference..

After Nintendo and Microsoft now its Sony whose showing off its futuristic motion sensing gaming technology. Richard Marks, creator of the Sony EyeToy, which enables two-dimensional camera-tracking games, showed off a new version of Sony’s motion-tracking technology yesterday. According to Richard the technology works with sub-millimeter accuracy, The technology enables you to write names on your TV screen with . You can also do all sorts of body-movements, such as swinging a sword, spraying a paint can, or shooting a gun.

Motion sensing technology, introduced by Nintendo Wii is now a must have. sony’s motion sensing controller comes with a special light located at the top and works in collaboration with Sony’s updated Toy camera. Though the original EyeToy has been criticized for its limitations; sony claims that when the device is used with the controller, the accuracy of the cntrols is rather high. To provide the gamers the tactile feeling, sony has decided to go on with a ‘controller’, unlike Microsoft which has chosen a controller-less path in its Natal project.

It should be noted that virtually all the video games designed for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 game consoles rely on traditional controllers, it is unlikely that the new motion-sensing controller from Microsoft and Sony will become necessary to play new video-games. Moreover, the vast majority of titles aimed at hardcore gamers are unlikely to take advantage of the new controllers at all. With the three major brands fighting for the market of motion sensing gaming. It is yet to be seen who will get the technology to market first.
