James Cameron’s Avatar:The Game

Game tie-ins with movies never really work out, case in point, Transformers and Watchmen. However, James Cameron’s Avatar The game , promises to deliver far more than what you would normally expect from a movie adaptation.

Developed by Ubisoft, the game brings you to the rainforest moon of Pandora and pitches you in the midst of a heated battle between the humans as RDA (Resources Development Administration) and Pandora’s indigenous inhabitants the Na’vi.

You get to choose between campainging as a RDA operative or side with the Na’vi, each with its own unfolding storyline in terms of mission outcomes and basic gameplay.Posing as a RDA operative allows you to acquire and and master all the projectile weapons the game has to offer, apart from putting  you in the drivers seat of some of their heavy duty assault vehicles , both land and air.

As one of the Na’vi, superior agility and stealth gives you an edge with your melle weapons, of them the twin blades being the most devastating. Being a resident of Pandora gives you command over its beasts and environment.

Speaking of environment, the game offers an unbroken vista of forests and foliage that can be used to the advantage of both factions, apart from being breathtakingly beautiful,  also depicts collateral damage in the course of an intense fight.

Available on the DS,PC,PS3,PSP and Wii the game promises to give you a challenging gameplay. It offers a unique perspective into the Avatar universe.
