Microsoft’s project NATAL is the real time motion capture accessory for the Xbox 360. This new game control system uses a 3-D depth camera to capture your movements in front of the TV and translate them into control actions for a game. Earlier Microsoft was facing problem to differentiate game players from others. now that they have overcome the problem Microsoft showed off a game control scheme where you use your body to control what happens in a game. Microsoft acquired 3D depth camera maker 3DV Systems and is also working with Prime Sense, another 3D depth camera company. Microsoft is shipping game design tools for Project Natal.

Here are its some features..
- Full body and hand gesture control of games / characters.
- It also picks up small hand gestures like pinching, grabbing and scrolling
- You can “move objects on your screen” and the other party can see what you’re doing in real time.
- Sensor detects only the person playing, not folks observing on the couch.

Richard Doherty, an analyst at the Envisioneering Group, said that it remains to be seen just how good the camera and technology is in terms of allowing multiplayer play. He thinks it could take a long time before game developers can launch games based on the technology, though it might happen sooner if Microsoft itself can get downloadable games out for its Xbox Live service.
