Here is a good news for Need for Speed fans, EA is planning on bringing their upcoming Need for Speed: Shift title to the iPhone. The news was also confirmed by EAMobile’s twitter account.
Need for Speed: Shift is one of the next installments in the long-running racing video game franchise Need for Speed published by Electronic Arts. Earlier this year EA surprised the gaming community with the announcement of Need For Speed Shift taking the franchise away from its current arcade formula and moving back towards its origins on the Panasonic 3DO system, offering a more realistic racing experience. The game was announced in January as a part of a three-game announcement that includes Need for Speed: Nitro and Need for Speed: World Online.
The trailer for the consoles looks impressive:
EA claims that the game will provide a thrill of driving incredibly fast, the pressure of the competition, the fear of losing control, the intense concentration and effort needed to harness the power of a racing car. One of the innovations in Shift is the way it tries to simulate crashes. The crashes will affect the player visually. While crashing, there will be a temporary blur in the screen. The sound aspect will have detailed car crash sound, as well sharp gasp of breath from the driver before a collision. Looks like the Need For speed Shift is going to be a true drivers experience.
Shift will be launched in September 2009. It will be available onĀ Xbox 360, Playstation 3, Playstation Portable (PSP), PC as well as on mobiles and iphone.
