KOTOR or Knights of the Old Republic is a cult hit RPG game which has won various accolades on multiple platforms. The game is the first game based in the Star Wars universe and since then has spawned another sequel called “The Sith Lords”. There are various reasons for its tremendous success, being a part of the eternal Star Wars franchise is one of them. Lucas Arts has finally decided to take the series a step beyond and develop a MMORPG around it, which was officially announced on the 21st.

The game is supposed to be more story driven than most MMORPGs and Bioware hired 12 writers to conjure up the  story. We all know that Bioware is known for making near-perfect RPGs and they always rely on a strong plot, so the new MMO should be no surprise. “We’re making KOTOR 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and beyond–this game is that big, it’s got that much content in it,” explained BioWare co-founder Ray Muzyka. “It’s very innovative–it’s story based. You can choose to be with the Force(Jedi) or become a Sith, each having their own races and classes. “You get to choose many things in the game–your faction, your class, good and evil, how your story unfolds,” explained lead designer James Ohlen. The game looks promising but we might have to wait a while before it is out, since no date was confirmed.
