The game was brilliant, the sequel will be even better and a movie based on the franchise makes commercial sense. GOW the movie will attract most of the gamers and since its a sci-fi war movie, with no drama and a chainsaw, you can expect almost any guy to go for it. Action Trip reports:

According to Wyck Godfrey of Temple Hill Entertainment, “We’ve got our script and a director we’re about to attach.” “We’ll hopefully make that early next year for the summer of 2010,” he added.
The script will be penned by Stuart Beattie (Collateral, Pirates of the Caribbean), while it’s said that Epic’s Cliff Bleszinkski will provide input throughout the production process.
In addition, it looks like the movie will be shot entirely on green screen, same as they did with the runaway teenage hit, 300.

The sequel is coming this year, and the franchise was planned to be a trilogy, don’t be surprised if the third game is released with the movie.
